Day 1
Today we arrived at our camp after a trip to the Geopark Museum. At the Geopark museum we learned about the Batur area, it’s geology and the eruptions that formed the caldera and lava fields of Mt. Batur. We arrived “at the best camp ever” (Ms Green). After lunch we jeeped around the black lava fields. We returned to a delicious dinner followed by a campfire and bonding activities. Tomorrow we visit the caldera...
Day 2
We woke up early and climbed to the crater of Mt Batur where we saw the crater and were awe inspired by the view! During the afternoon G9 made volcano safety posters and began to plan how to teach the children in the local school some volcano related English. Before we went to bed we had a campfire played games and some of us saw a meteor!
Day 3
Now we are learning about farming on volcanic soil. Day 3 afternoon we went to a local school and spent time interacting in English and playing sport with the students there.
G9 are packed up and leaving camp after rafting!
