Wednesday morning
Grade 7 did a trekking to Lake Tamblingan, followed by a canoe ride over the lake to lunch. The afternoon will be spent at a local school where the Grade 7’s will be leading activities to raise environmental awareness and develop English language skills! Fun times ahead!
Everyone had an awe inspiring day today in so many ways. Trekking and canoeing around the lake and absorbing their incredible surroundings, followed by a wonderful afternoon of inspirational student leadership at the local school. Our students really shone in leading meaningful service activities with the younger students and showcased their leadership skills and teamwork in the truest sense of the word. A brilliantly exhausting day!
Thursday
Day 3 started for Grade 7 with breakfast (served for each other by each other!) and a knotting session which will be vital for the raft building tomorrow! The students helped and taught each other brilliantly showing real support and care for one another. We then explored the organic farm where we are staying and learnt all about the ways the farm is self sufficient and is endeavouring to be kind to the land. We even ate edible flowers! Back to camp for the afternoon of cultural cookery which we savoured later on. We perfected our knots and they featured in a super high energy relay activity led by Mr H... there was nowhere to hide! The evening was rounded off with a delicious bbq (served by ourselves for each other) and a final reflection of how we are developing a culture of kindness. S’mores to end the evening made our final night extra special.
Friday
On our way home!!!
