Shoutout to Brayshin Choice and Raelee Martin for representing Baldwin County at the National Flute Association Convention!
They performed with the Georgia College & State University flute choir, using extended techniques at the start of their piece to create unique sound effects on their flutes—check out the video here: https://youtu.be/IfcrGLpsSsA
While at NFA, they soaked up every moment—attending concerts, exploring exhibits, and even picking out new music for future performances. A highlight? The Thursday night gala concert featuring incredible instruments like the double contrabass flute, traditional Turkish and Irish flutes, and the world premiere of a flute ensemble piece with soloist Valerie Coleman, founder of Imani Winds.
We’re so proud to see them experience music on such a global stage and bring back inspiration that will enrich our own band program! #BaldwinProud #MusicMatters #NFATravelNotes

A huge CONGRATS!🎉 goes out to Level 3 Marketing Management student, Sariah Hill, for being selected as one of 12 total students for this prestigious summer program at Georgia College & State University.
Participants will spend a week in June learning all about starting their own business including how to write a business plan. Sariah, along with the other 11 students, will eat, sleep, and interact on the GCSU campus for the week all while learning from top-notch professors about business ownership.
In order to be accepted, students had to submit an application including a letter of interest and a letter of recommendation alongside their paperwork. We look forward to hearing about all of Sariah’s newfound knowledge from this exciting opportunity hosted by the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship. We know she will do great things following an impressive run helping facilitate our school-based enterprise in the fall.

Students Earn FAA Drone Certification
The Baldwin County School District would like to congratulate three Baldwin High School students on earning their FAA Commercial Drone Certification. Dale Rice, Caleb Mulcahy, and Johntavious Mosley. They made history by passing the FAA Commercial Drone Pilot Test, becoming the first from their school to achieve this milestone.
The students, accompanied by their instructor Roberto Hornung, traveled to Middle Georgia State University in Eastman to take the test. They were praised for their professionalism and success, and afterward, were given a tour of the college, further expanding their knowledge of the field.
Once these students clear their TSA background checks, they are on track to become fully certified drone pilots and are now ready to enter the rapidly growing field of unmanned aerial systems (UAS).
