Find the Right Brokerage

Try to be as systematic as possible when looking for the right office for you. First, create a list of the offices in your area. Next, research each brokerage by talking to friends and spending time on their websites. From there, whittle down your list by making eliminations based on reputation of the company, managing broker, specific agents in the office and the office in general. As the last step, interview at least three managing brokers. This is the person who will infuse your experience with education, counsel and mentoring throughout your career. It is extremely important to find the right environment that will help drive your success. Keep in mind that most brokerages consider agents joining them a numbers game where they know a certain percentage will not make it. This is why in the industry 70% of agents wash out in their first 24 months and another 10% drop out between year 2 and 5. Our brokers are some of most productive in the area, so a strong support team is essential to keep the flow of business moving. Consistently praised as the best in the business by our brokers, our support staff is made up of our Designated Managing Broker, Sales Support Manager and three Sales Support Specialists, all at the office, plus marketing production, custom marketing staff, a Tech Help Desk, closing teams, logistics, training and much more at our Home Office. Besides all this support, our broker assist staff provides on-demand, on-site, assistant support. The Baird & Warner Glenbrook office was named one of the top 20 fastest growing Chicagoland offices in 2017 (#13) by Chicago Agent Magazine and rose to the third highest position on the list.

In 2018, we built on the 2017 success by growing almost every aspect of our business by more than 30% (based on MLS data as of August 2018) when the market was down overall.

Detailed training, coaching, accountability and business planning are the cornerstone of the office agent’s success. Newer agents or those needing additional coaching meet weekly, while more experienced and productive agents meet twice a month. The training opportunities within the office and company are beyond compare. From our state-of-the-art, new agent classes to our monthly sales meetings, two or more weekly training opportunities in the office and additional training programs provided by the company for all levels of agents from the newest to the top 1%, there are valuable events for all.

Designated Managing Broker Ian Robinson’s open-door policy for all brokers and dedicated weekly time to meet with them for coaching is what truly sets our office apart.
