Back to the Streets is built with the neighbourhood, and this toolkit is here to make sharing it easy.

Whether you’re an artist, business, community organization, partner, sponsor, venue, volunteer, or someone who has accidentally become the person responsible for Instagram, you’ll find ready-to-use copy, graphics, event descriptions, social media assets, newsletter language, tags, links, and practical tips throughout this site.

Use what you need. Make it your own where it makes sense. Keep the key event details intact. Then help us get Pride back into the streets.

WHY SHARING MATTERS

A post starts with one audience. A share gives it another.

If one account has 100 followers and another account with 100 followers shares the post, that message now has a second route into the world. Some people may overlap, but many will be completely new to the original account.

An Inglewood business reaches another.

A community organization reaches another.

A brewery, sports group, venue, partner, performer, and volunteer network each bring their own people with them.

We may share values, communities and interests, but we do not all share the same followers. The more our networks connect, the further the weekend travels.

STEP TWO: SHARE THE WEEKEND

Want to tell your audience what Back to the Streets is all about without choosing just one event? Start here.

This page has ready-to-use copy, graphics, links, tags, and longer descriptions that share the weekend as a whole, from Friday’s kick-off through Saturday’s street-level programming and Sunday’s community celebrations. Use it for a social post, newsletter, website listing, event calendar, partner page, or anywhere else you want to say:

STEP THREE: PICK YOUR MOMENT

You do not need to promote everything. Share the moments your people are most likely to care about, whether that’s lawn bowling, the Treaty 7 Dyke and Trans March, all-ages programming, drag, Black Pride YYC, neighbourhood events, or whatever gets them rearranging their weekend.

STEP FOUR: PLAN YOUR WEEKEND

Back to the Streets is a whole Pride Weekend, and some of you are going to be in the middle of it.

Whether you’re performing, volunteering, working an activation, coming in from out of town, or deciding that going home between events sounds deeply unnecessary, we’ve pulled together a few useful details to make the weekend easier.
