Here is our purpose for organizing this gathering:

This gathering of Liberating Structures practitioners exists in order to…

• Thicken relational coordination in a way that increases social inventiveness, amplifies freedom & responsibility, and invites/incites each person to spread/evolve the repertoire with greater imagination AND greater fidelity
• Discover & deliberately develop connections that might turn into enduring sources of generative novelty for each individual AND the group as a whole
• Engage with seriously playful curiosity around the past, present, and future of spreading Liberating Structures more widely
• Act our way into new insights & thinking about the way a global community can collectively protect & hold onto what’s important, resist counter-productive influences, and continuously invent/renew/dissolve itself
• Meaningfully advance specific projects/activities/investments that would support more people in scaling up the use/spread of LS

General orientation:

When initially planning the Global Gathering we received paradoxical feedback from people that they wanted something that had been thoughtfully designed & prepared while also leaving open room for spontaneity. This is our attempt to work with that paradox while also creating more deliberate opportunities for the community to come together as a whole and densify the network of connections between practitioners.With that in mind, please bear with us as we collectively discover new ways to organize.

The Global Gathering is predicated on one of the core LS principles - Amplify freedom & responsibility. We are trying to hold back controlling too much of anything during it, believing in the creative adaptability and collective imagination of each individual to organize themselves and the group to self-organize in a caring and attentive way. We're sorry in advance if this doesn't meet your needs or stretches outside of your expectations for an event of this kind.
