Unit 1: Basics of Geometry
Welcome!
What will we be learning about during this studio?
The basics of geometry will cover the beginning of reasoning. This means you will begin to learn about inductive reasoning through patterns that we observe. In order to build a base for the rest of geometry we will learn all about points, lines and planes. This second section of this studio will focus on mastering the vocabulary terms that we will use to describe concepts in geometry.
Try This Out!
Explain to a partner the location of the point on the page to the right without using any descriptions about the boundaries.
You should notice it isn't easy to explain where something is without the use of references. You need to be able to describe location with coordinates in order to communicate correctly.
