Please save a digital copy of each entry using the following naming scheme: last name-category-species/area/other. Then email this digital copy of each entry (limited to 2 per category and 5 total) along with your name, cell number, email address, chapter affiliation, contest category, and the subject of the entry image (species/locale/other) to Lolita Van Pelt lolita.i.vanpelt@usda.gov and Tom Correll thomas.s.correll@usda.gov between January 16th and February 1st. The digital copies of your images make it possible to share entries throughout the conference, including the awards process. Our goal is to post these entries on the conference app as well.
To be eligible for the contest, a physical print of each entry (meeting the description in the rules above) MUST be submitted at the conference registration table between 9am and 4pm on Thursday, February 1st or between 7:30am and 8:30am on Friday, February 2nd. The information you provided in your email should also be attached to the back of the print/matte board (name, cell number, email address, chapter affiliation, contest category, and the subject species/locale/other).
Just to make sure it's clear, ONLY PRINTS will be judged and digital files alone are not sufficient for contest entry.
Conference attendees will vote on their favorite image from each category and the overall "Best in Show" beginning either Thursday evening or Friday morning.
Voting will close at the end of the Friday afternoon between session break (~3 or 3:30pm).
Winners will be announced at the Banquet Awards and certificates will be given out there.
Winners will also be featured in the AZTWS newsletter, on this website, and potentially used to promote future JAM Photo Contests.
