I am a Middle School Counselor at AXL Academy in Aurora, Colorado. I am also the Mental Health coordinator for the school where I lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive school counseling program, I also serve as the Middle School Gifted and Talented (GATE) Coordinator. I work well with admin to Implement anti-vape/ drug programming to keep our scholars healthy.
Additionally, I am the founder of a private behavioral health practice providing psychotherapy to children, adolescents, and families, with specialized interests in trauma, forensic mental health, and school-based intervention.
My work focuses on expanding equitable access to mental health care, strengthening college and career readiness, and implementing data-driven comprehensive school counseling programs that improve student outcomes. My research interests include trauma-informed educational practices, behavioral neuroscience, educational equity, and the intersection of mental health and academic achievement. I have presented research at national conferences, including the Society for Personality and Social Psychology (SPSP), American Psychology–Law Society (AP-LS), and Brain Injury Alliance of Colorado (BIAC). Where I served as a keynote speaker and was recognized by the University of Denver as an Extraordinary Student Leader and Changemaker.
I earned a Bachelor of Science in Behavioral Neuroscience from Saint Mary's College of California, and I have a Master of Arts in Clinical Forensic Psychology degree from the University of Denver. I just graduated with my second master's degree from DU in School Psychology.
My interdisciplinary training allows me to integrate neuroscience, clinical psychology, forensic psychology, and educational practice to support the academic, behavioral, and emotional development of children and adolescents. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate (LPCC) in Colorado and will be fully licensed as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in December of this year. I do this while remaining actively engaged in policy change, advocacy, and evidence-based practice within the fields of education and mental health.
