AVID at Phoenix Academy

Welcome to AVID! We are taking applications for 2023-2024 for AVID and ASB! If the classes become full we will accept applications for the waiting list.

What Is AVID?

AVID is a program that works with students who are in the middle. Students are asked to maintain above a 2.5 GPA, be leaders on campus and strive to attend a university following high school graduation. We often visit college campuses throughout the year. AVID students are also asked to give back to their community and participate in at least 5 hours of community service every trimester.

AVID Tutorials

AVID Tutorials will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays. College students will work with your student 2 times a week on core subjects. Tutorials are expected to start in September and we are excited to welcome back 3 of our college tutors.

AVID Binder

Binder Checks are a part of your student's AVID grade. Binders are checked every Friday.

AVID Weekly Grade Checks

AVID students will complete weekly grade checks to help stay on track. These grade checks are to be taken around to their teachers on THURSDAYS and will be turned in every Monday with their binder check completed.

Every Friday is AVID or College Spirit Wear.
