The playground is an essential part of every school. Children spend many hours of their day occupying themselves with the activities a playground has to offer. The Peaceful Playground program has transformed our playground into a colorful arrangement of games the kids love to play. The Peaceful Playground activities help make the playground more positive and productive and even more academic. This program is designed to maximize the number of students involved in physical activity, rather than having them stand in a line waiting for a turn or just stand around talking. This program also cuts down on the number of playground and problems and referrals.
The Phoenix Academy Family Center is a supportive environment for parents to learn about how to help and support their child's learning and become partners with their child's teacher. The Phoenix Academy Family Center provides families a variety of services:
Referrals for clothing, food and other social services
Parenting classes
Rosetta Stone English classes
Family Literacy classes
Assistance in obtaining medical insurance for children
Assist families with skills on how to help their children with homework
Encourage participation in School Site Council, PTO and other parent involvement activities
Lending library for children (English and Spanish)
Our goal at the Phoenix Academy Family Center is to provide families with a warm and welcoming atmosphere, conversation and school information. Your are your child's first and most important teacher. As a parent, you know your child best and can share some of that knowledge with the school.
Please feel free to come by and visit our family center:
