Dear Altar Valley Families,
As we settle into the new academic year and the second month of school, I want to express my gratitude for the hard work and dedication that all of our families, students, and staff have shown during this first month of school. It has been an amazing start of the year and it is great to have you all back!
Academic Excellence and Goals
Our primary goal this year is to continue fostering a nurturing and engaging learning environment where each student can build, grow, flourish, and succeed. To achieve this, we are committed to:
High Expectations for Academic Growth: AVSD goal is to ensure that all students in grades 1-8 achieve proficiency on our Math and Reading Curriculum Base Measures (CBM) and that all students in grades 4-8 increase their achievement on Arizona Academic Standards Assessment, AASA.
Community Collaboration: AVSD will continue to provide equitable opportunities that strengthen collaboration within the community.
AVSD will support lifelong learning and high-quality professional development by continuing to offer a variety of workshops and training sessions focused on current educational trends and best practices that meet our staff and student’s needs.
Upcoming Events

Communication
We believe in open communication and value your feedback. If you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions, please do not hesitate to reach out to your child’s teacher, school principal or me. Together, we can ensure that every child has a successful and fulfilling school year.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership. Here’s to a fantastic September and a great school year!
