Welcome Back Eagles!

This year holds great promise for Altar Valley Middle School. We are fully staffed with teachers that are eager to provide our students with opportunities to build, grow, flourish and succeed! Students and parents have signed their accountability contracts and students are in the process of taking benchmark assessments. With the information we glean from the assessments and classroom data we will support students with reteach, enrichment and afterschool programs!

With that being said, I would like to highlight our after school programs: 21st Century and Sports. This year our 21st Century program will be under the direction of Katie Nicholas, our site coordinator. Classes being offered this semester will include: ELA Tutoring, Math Tutoring, Homework Help, Creative Writing, Drama Club, Yearbook Club, Art, Lego Robotics, and Crafts Club (crochet, needlework, etc).

Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday

Class Start Time: 2:30 pm

Class End Time: 4:55 pm

Snack: 2:30-2:40 (in cafeteria)

Transportation: Bus will leave AVMS at 5:10 pm to pick up at Robles, then will run routes

We would like to involve families as much as possible this school year. One way we plan to do this is our quarterly Family Fun Nights sponsored through 21st Century! Our first family fun night of the year will be on Wednesday - September 21, 2022 from 5:30 - 7:00. Be on the lookout for more information regarding the offerings. Dinner will be provided to the first 200 people in attendance and the event is open to Robles and AVMS families.

We are excited about the additional services that will be offered and hope that your child will take advantage of this wonderful opportunity. We are so excited to be able to provide these opportunities to our students. In addition to 21^st Century we offer a sports program at AVMS. First quarter is Co-Ed Flag Football and Co-Ed Volleyball. Practice began on August 15, 2022 and runs the same hours as 21st Century. Games begin on August 30th with an away game at Calabasas. Our first home game will be on Thursday, September 1^st at 4:00 pm. We would love to see a big crowd at our home games!

As you can see we have exciting opportunities for the 2022-2023 school year! We want your student to succeed in all they choose to do and experience as much as possible. We look forward to working with you to provide your child with all the tools needed to build, grow, flourish and succeed!
