The Family Resource Center is designed to serve and support families with children birth through age 5. The Family Resource Center is funded by First Things First with United Way of Tucson and Southern Arizona serving as the lead grantee, and implemented in partnership with Casa de los Niños, Easterseals Blake Foundation, Make Way for Books, Parent Aid and UA Community Extension Programs. All programs and activities are FREE.
Family Movie Night
We had a magical night watching Despicable Me 4. Our families were able to learn about different resources available to our community. Mr. Garrett, who teaches our Kids in Motion Class, had us all dancing and getting all our energy out before the movie. We had The Joint Chiropractic giving out free first visits to our families and Sahuarita Food Bank gave away pajamas, small pillows, and books to our children. Child & Family Resources, Make Way for Books, and Parent Aid shared information about their programs and gave away gifts to the families. Ms. Jenna made our night extra special by filling up the room with the smell of fresh movie theatre popcorn, snacks, and drinks. United Way of Tucson and Southern Arizona provided pizza and oranges for everyone. Thank you to everyone that was able to attend!
Noche de cine en familia
Tuvimos una noche mágica viendo Despicable Me 4. Nuestras familias pudieron aprender sobre los diferentes recursos disponibles para nuestra comunidad. Earth Express
Our Earth Express class has been a wonderful opportunity for our families and students to explore the outdoor world around us. Ms. Debi, from Prescott College teaches nature-based classes in a sensory way that engages all the children. She offers three or four developmentally appropriate fun activities and a story time. We have learned about fossils, rocks, insects, and trees. At our last class we observed a walking stick and preying mantis in its home on campus. She covers different topics at every class. She is at Robles Elementary every other Monday, and at Mission Manor Park one Saturday a month.
Nuestra clase Earth Express ha sido una oportunidad maravillosa para que nuestras familias y estudiantes exploren el mundo que nos rodea al aire libre. La Sra. Debi, de Prescott College, imparte clases basadas en la naturaleza de una manera sensorial que involucra a todos los niños. Ofrece tres o cuatro actividades divertidas apropiadas para el desarrollo y lectura de cuentos. Hemos aprendido sobre fósiles, rocas, insectos y árboles.
