Internships and jobs are available in public service offices, Pima County departments, public school districts, engineering companies, medical clinics, resorts, community centers, and other workplaces..
Employability-skills training helps prepare you for your job this summer and in the future.

GENERAL PROGRAM INFORMATION
Work hours vary from 20-30 hours per week. The duration of the Summer Program is 4 weeks long. Pay will be minimum wage of $16.54 an hour.
WHO CAN APPLY?
Youths ages 14 to 21 by Feb. 27, 2026.
You must be a permanent resident of Pima County!
Please be aware that due to policies and requirements set forth by particular departments and worksites, not all
ages may be eligible for every summer program included within this application process.

Robles Elementary All-Star Student of the Month
George K., 3rd Grade
George is an exceptional Bobcat and our January Student of the Month. George consistently demonstrates the ROAR values of being Respectful and Open-Minded. He enters the classroom every day with a positive attitude, setting a strong example for his peers through his kindness and supportive nature. Whether he is sharing materials or including others without hesitation, George’s welcoming personality and respectful behavior help create a safe and inclusive environment for all Bobcats.
In addition to his kindness, George excels in being Accountable and Responsible for his learning. He takes true ownership of his education by staying organized, listening carefully to instructions, and completing his work on time. George is also incredibly reliable and frequently volunteers to help both his teacher and classmates with extra tasks, proving himself to be an outstanding role model and a dedicated member of our school community. Thank you George for being such a great bobcat!
Robles Elementary All-Star Employee of the Month
Diana Cordova, Family Resource Center Coordinator
Congratulations to Diana Cordova, our January Staff of the Month at Robles Elementary! Ms. Diana joined the Altar Valley Family many years ago in our Preschool Program and she was a wonderful Preschool Teacher. This school year we were lucky enough to have her step over and take over management of the Family Resources Center. Diana has led the Family Resource Center remarkably well. She does a fantastic job bringing our community together. She possesses a remarkable ability to connect with anyone and everyone she works with, and her vibrant energy is truly inspiring to those around her.
Beyond her excellent communication skills, Diana takes true ownership of her role by ensuring our families have the vital support they need to thrive. She has teamed up with other staff to pull resources and created new partnerships with organizations in the community. Her dedication and positive presence make her an invaluable member of the Robles Elementary team, and we are proud to celebrate her hard work this month.
Altar Valley Middle School All-Star Student of the Month
Emilio G., 6th Grade
Our January Student All-Star of the Month is a new addition to AVSD, yet from the moment he arrived, he immediately fit in and became a valued part of our school community. He jumped right into student life, participating in both boys basketball and soccer, and even took home a major accomplishment by winning the AZ Bowl EA Sports College Football Tournament which awarded him a brand new PS5 and $200. Beyond his involvement in activities, he is a strong student in the classroom and a genuinely kind person who shows respect to peers, staff, and teammates. He truly represents our SOAR values—he helps create a Safe and positive space around him, remains Open-Minded when learning new things and meeting new people, is Accountable in his schoolwork and responsibilities, and consistently shows Respect in the way he treats others. We are proud to celebrate him as our Student All-Star of the Month! Congratulations, Emilio, and remember that Eagles Soar!

Amber Bishop, Substitute Teacher
We are proud to recognize Amber Bishop as our January All-Star of the Month. As a long-term substitute who committed to serving for the entire school year, she has taken on a tremendous responsibility and done so with consistency, professionalism, and care. Ms. Bishop demonstrates excellent classroom management that keeps her students Safe, creating an environment where learning can happen without distraction. She is Open-Minded, encouraging students to share ideas and express their creativity through writing, helping them build confidence in their voice. She is Accountable in her communication, preparation, and follow-through, ensuring her classroom runs smoothly each day. Most importantly, she is Respectful, treating every student with patience and empathy while modeling the expectations we want to see from them. We are excited to recognize Alazne as our 1st grade Student of the Month! Alazne shines brightly in the classroom each day. She comes to school ready to learn, tries her best in everything she does, and sets a positive example for her classmates.
Alazne shows kindness to everyone she meets. She shares, helps friends when they need support, and treats others with respect. In class, she listens carefully, follows directions, and works hard during reading, writing, and math activities. Her positive attitude and big smile brighten our classroom and make learning fun for everyone.
We are so proud of Alazne’s growth, responsibility, and the way she models our ROAR values. She is a joy to have in class and truly deserves this recognition.
