Welcome Back, Bobcats!
Building Strong Habits for a Successful Second Semester
Dear Robles Bobcat Families,
Happy New Year and welcome back, Bobcats! We hope your family enjoyed a restful and joyful Winter Break. January is an exciting time as students return refreshed, ready to learn, and focused on building strong routines for the second half of the school year. This is a critical time for academic growth, and your partnership makes all the difference in helping our students succeed.
📊 Attendance Matters — Every Minute Counts
Consistent attendance is one of the strongest predictors of student success. When students are in school every day and on time, they stay connected to instruction, routines, and learning opportunities that cannot be replicated outside the classroom.
Please remember:
Four (4) early outs or tardies equal one full day absent.
The State of Arizona limits excused absences to the following only:
Illness: Personal sickness or injury
Medical/Health: Doctor, dental, or mental/behavioral health appointments
Bereavement: Death in the family
Family Emergencies: Unexpected, critical situations
Absences outside of these categories are required to be marked unexcused, even if you call or send a note. We appreciate your support in helping students arrive on time and attend school consistently every day.
🎉 PBIS Incentive — Scooter Giveaway!
To keep our students motivated and focused on learning as we round out the school year, we are launching an exciting PBIS incentive!
Students can earn raffle entries in two ways:
🏆 Students with 3 or fewer absences in a month will earn one entry.
🏆 Students with no discipline incidents for the month will earn an additional entry.
The Razor Scooter will be awarded in May. This incentive encourages strong attendance, positive behavior, and a continued focus on learning. Let’s cheer our Bobcats on as they work toward this goal!
📚 Families Are a Child’s First Teachers
We are grateful for the strong partnership we share with our families. Parents and caregivers are a child’s first and most important teachers. Taking time to read together, practice math facts, review homework, and talk about learning each evening builds confidence and strengthens academic skills. Your involvement sends a powerful message that education matters.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership. We are excited for a strong and successful second half of the school year!
Warm regards,
Dustie Gunn

Folklórico at Robles Elementary
Every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, you can find Robles Elementary students setting up, stretching, and warming up for Folklórico practice. What began as a small group has flourished into a vibrant program with more than 40 students participating from Pre-K through 5th grade.
Folklórico has opened the door for many students who once struggled with stage fright, shyness, or making new friends. The group has truly become a beautiful family — older students proudly mentor the younger dancers, making sure everyone follows the steps, while the little ones keep the energy high and everyone on their toes. Twirling dresses, colorful bows, flowers, and charro shoes are just the beginning of this exciting cultural adventure.
Our Folklórico dancers have proudly represented Robles by performing several times throughout our school and at community events, sharing their talent, culture, and school pride with others. These performances build confidence, teamwork, and a strong sense of belonging for our students.
Ballet folklórico is a traditional dance style that blends ballet techniques with regional folk culture to tell stories about a community’s traditions, beliefs, and spirit. The term baile folklórico means folkloric dances in Spanish, and at Robles, it has become a joyful celebration of culture, connection, and student growth.
