A Strong Start to the New Semester at AVMS
Dear Eagles Families and Community Partners,
As we step into February, we want to celebrate the exciting momentum that carried us through December and January. Our campus was filled with joy and connection during our holiday celebration, and we extend a heartfelt thank you to our community for your generous support in making it such a memorable event for our students and families.
We are also proud to share a student achievement that happened over break, one of our AVMS students brought home the championship at the AZ Bowl eSports Tournament! This accomplishment highlights the talent, dedication, and teamwork that our students continue to demonstrate both in and out of the classroom.
December wrapped up with our 6th-grade students finishing their diorama projects, and they did a terrific job showcasing creativity, effort, and strong academic skills. In January, our 21st Century Program added an exciting new opportunity by launching a cooking class, giving students hands-on experiences that build life skills and confidence beyond the school day. Our Student Council and 8th graders have also been hard at work preparing fundraisers in support of the upcoming 8th-grade trip, demonstrating leadership, collaboration, and school pride.
The first month of the second semester is already off to a smooth and successful start. Our athletic programs are also starting their season strong, celebrating first wins for both boys soccer and girls basketball—an exciting way to kick off competition and school spirit.
Looking ahead, February brings great opportunities to cheer on our teams and enjoy time together as a community:
February 5: Home game vs. Calabasas
February 17: Away game vs. Coatimundi
February 18: Family Fun Night
February 19: Home game vs. Coatimundi
February 26–27: Rodeo Days – No School
Thank you for your continued partnership and support. We look forward to a fantastic February at AVMS!
With gratitude,
Principal Valdez
