Mandatory Live
Sessions

Mandatory Live Sessions are live classes that are held on Zoom. During these classes, you will practice your English.

To earn credit, you must attend and participate in class, according to your teacher's instructions.

Mandatory Live Sessions are required and are part of the final grade in your courses.

You will have six Mandatory Live Sessions this school year. The student calendar shows the weeks for each Mandatory Live Session.

You will only be invited to ONE live session on ONE day during each Mandatory Live Session Week:

• MLS-1: Week of October 13

• MLS-2: Week of November 17

• MLS-3: Week of January 12

• MLS-4: Week of February 23

• MLS-5: Week of March 16

• MLS-6: Week of May 4

🚨Please note: All live sessions will be held in ZOOM. Please make sure that you check for Zoom updates regularly to ensure you can always access your meetings without any interruptions.

💡 Pro Tip: Add these dates to your calendar/planner so you can plan around live session weeks!

The Wednesday before the Mandatory Live Session week, you will receive an emailed invitation with a Zoom link and exact date and time for your Mandatory Live Session. (Check your Colegia email!)

It is expected that you will attend your session and participate during the date and time listed on your emailed invitation.

*** If an emergency arises and you cannot attend your scheduled Mandatory Live Session, I will try my best to accommodate you. Please email me as soon as you can to resolve the issue. In your email, please provide me with TWO days and times that work for you and, if another live session is being held on one of your requested days/times, I will send you a new Zoom link. Remember, Mandatory Live Sessions are REQUIRED. ***

At the end of your Mandatory Live Session, I will give you instructions on what to submit in Cosmos for your Mandatory Live Session Assignment.

Mandatory Live Session Assignments are follow-up assignments you will submit in Cosmos. They are due on the Friday of each Mandatory Live Session week.

Please note: if you do NOT attend the MLS, you will NOT be given the Mandatory Live Session Assignment and you will earn an automatic zero.

Mandatory Live Session Assignment Due Dates:

• MLS-1: October 17

• MLS-2: November 21

• MLS-3: January 16

• MLS-4: February 27

• MLS-5: March 20

• MLS-6: May 1

💡Pro Tip: Add these dates to your calendar/planner so you don't forget when your MLS assignments are due!

*** Remember, the date of your Mandatory Live Session may not be the same date as the due date for the Mandatory Live Session Assignment. ***

To earn 100% on your Mandatory Live Session Assignments, you should:

• Attend and participate during your scheduled Mandatory Live Session. This means keeping your camera turned ON and interacting with your teacher and classmates either verbally or in the Zoom chat box.

• Submit your Mandatory Live Session Assignment on Cosmos in each of your Cosmos courses, according to your teacher's instructions.

To submit your MLS assignment, click on Activities under your course in Cosmos. There are two ways you can do this:

1. Click on the menu button on the top left corner of your Cosmos dashboard and select a course.

2. Click on the Activities button on the bottom left of the course tile on your Cosmos student dashboard.
