When Autograph Talent receives your payment from the client—typically 45-60 business days after the job—your check will be issued and sent to the address listed or deposited to your bank with the info saved on your Skybolt account.

Payments are made either by check or direct deposit through our parent LLC, Red Dot Talent, using Bill.com as the payment issuer. We also need a current W9 on file at all times. If your address changes after joining, please ask for a new W9 and we will send you one to fill out to have on our books for end of year 1099s.

While we work diligently to expedite invoicing and payments, please keep in mind non-union jobs can take the 60 days to process payment. If you’re approaching the 60-day mark, feel free to contact your agent to follow up with production.

For jobs paid through a payroll company (such as feature films and series), please check the option, when available, for payment to be sent “in care of my agency” and list our office:

For jobs paid through a payroll service, even if the payments are sent to Autograph and then forwarded to you, you were classified as an employee for those projects. This means you will receive a W-2 from the payroll company at year-end for tax purposes.

These payroll wages are not included in your 1099 earnings from Autograph for the tax year. Only payments directly processed through Autograph (not via a payroll service) will be reflected on your 1099. Please keep this in mind when preparing your taxes!

If you receive a check directly that is not from Red Dot Talent, LLC, please follow this procedure:

• Take a photo of the full copy of the check with the stub showing the payment breakdown 

• Email to biz@autographtalent.com right away

Do not deposit the check until we have confirmed the correct amount.

•  We will then send an invoice to you with multiple payment options for your commission amount.

Talent should not reach out to production for payment. 

The only exception is a payroll company (not production or casting), which you may contact directly, as these payments are managed separately and not through us or the direct client.

On some projects or contracts, you may notice the client pays an “agency fee” or “+10%" union rate, "+20%" typical non-union rate in addition to your rate. This fee does not cover your commission. It is a separate fee the production pays directly to the agency for booking talent. Your commission is still due to the agency.
