Mens Chorus

Grades 9, 10, 11, 12

This yearlong class will be offered to 9-12 graders who have had choir in their previous school. (Previous choir experience is desired but may not be necessary to enroll.) This is a prerequisite choir for those young men wishing to advance to our mixed choir. The class is a vocal class with emphasis on performing, learning to read music, and music theory. There will be one written test. Two mandatory concerts are required. Students new to the district must audition to be placed in this choir. Two mandatory concerts are required: Christmas (first Sunday in December) and Spring (second Sunday in May).

Girls Chorus

Grade 9

This chorus is made up of young women who have had previous choir experience in their previous school. Previous choir experience is not be necessary to enroll. Performing and music theory will be taught in this choir. Students will learn the fundementals of choral music and also entry level choreography. This ensemble is for those wishing to either further their choral career in High School, or, for those who simply enjoy singing and want to make it part of their school day.

Womens Chorus

Grades 10, 11, 12

This is an auditioned choir for those young women from Girls Chorus. Only by recommendation of their director can they be registered in this class. Directors will send counselors a list of those passing the audition. This choir also studies music theory and sight-reading. Two mandatory concerts will be required: Christmas and Spring. The music studied in this ensemble is more challenging and requires higher choral technique and training. Singers in Women's Chorus will also have the opportunity to remain in this ensemble for the remainder of their High School choral career, or audition for Concert Choir.

Concert Choir

Grades 10, 11, 12 (co-ed ) Prerequisite: Girls Chorus and Women’s Chorus, or Men's Chorus.

This is an auditioned SATB Choir. Students audition in the spring of the year for placement in this choir. Concert Choir is a touring choir with many outside community performances. This choir is for those disciplined students who display a sincere interest in choral music and performance. Fundraising is required of these students for their yearly tour. The Concert Choir performs at Veteran's hospitals annually. They have traveled and performed in many cities in our country, including New York City, Nashville, and Boston. Concert Choir made it Carnegie Hall deput in 2017 performing with World renoun composer/conductor Eric Whitacre. In 2022, Concert Choir marks its 50th year of serving those who have served in the United States Military.
