During the on-boarding process, Amanda will verify your plan details and see what the out-of-pocket costs will look like for you before having your first appointment. If you are not interested in using insurance, the fee is $150 / 50 minute session and $250 / 90 minute session.
What does therapy look like?
Therapy looks different for every clinician - personal approaches, theories utilized and main areas of focus will vary some from therapist to therapist. Amanda describes her therapy approach as a combination of skills training / techniques building and process work. Usually when people reach out for services, there is a sense of urgency and this is where skills training and techniques building will come into play - i.e. coping skills, stress management, self care, boundary building tools, etc.,. This combines nicely with what Amanda describes as process work - this will look more closely at patterns we may be able to observe through discussion and hopefully better understand why we live and operate in the manners in which we do.
How long / frequently should I go to therapy?
Amanda encourages the people that she works with to hit the ground running with making progress on their personal goals. Most often, people will start off weekly / every other week and then taper off as needed from there. Commonly, people will be more consistent with therapy in the beginning of services and then create something that fits their unique needs as time passes and goals are obtained. This is a topic that Amanda is highly collaborative with each individual on, and will periodically have check-ins to help ensure that goals outlined are being met / consistency of sessions feels appropriate. If goals are reached, and the work with Amanda is concluded, you are more than welcome to reach out at any time should you feel the need to do so - she would be more than happy to get you back on the schedule.
