School-wide Value- Added
School-wide Value-Added is a normed statistical measure that analyzes a student's expected growth relative to their actual growth on an annual basis. This TEA accepted student growth measure prioritizes growth over traditional achievement and supports the idea that all campus staff collectively contribute to the growth of students. AISD contracts with SAS EVAAS for the annual calculation of this measure. Calculations are done at the student level, using the student’s own testing history when available, and in comparison with students of similar demographics across the state. Student scores are on a 1-5 scale and are averaged for a campus wide reading and a math score. Each campus's reading and math scores are averaged to give the campus a School-wide Value-Added score ranging from 1 to 5. All teachers and administrators at the campus receive the same score toward 10% of the PPfT or CAPR summative score. Principal Supervisors receive an aggregate score of the campuses they support for 10% of their summative evaluation score.
The Office of Employee Effectiveness has received the 2023-2024 School-wide Value-Added scores. The School-wide Value-Added scores were published in the HCP platform for teachers to view in their appraisal plans on February 28, 2024.
