This is the typical 4 year graduation plan that most of our students follow. Classes are listed in the order they should be taken.
English 1 - On-Level or Advanced
English 2 - On-Level or Advanced- ADV or On-Level
English 3 - On-Level, AP, OnRamps, ACC
English 4 - On-Level, AP, ACC, OnRamps
World Geography - On-Level or Advanced
World History - On-Level or AP
U.S. History - On-Level, AP, OnRamps, ACC
Government (1/2 credit) - On-Level, AP, ACC
Economics (1/2 credit) - On-Level, AP, ACC
Algebra 1 - On-Level or Advanced
Geometry - On-Level or Advanced
Algebra 2 - On-Level or Advanced
Pre-Cal - On-Level or OnRamps
Students who double up on Algebra 1/Geometry or who take Algebra 1 and/or other maths in middle school are encouraged to continue with AP Calculus and/or AP Statistics
With the advice of their teachers, students may also take an alternate math path by taking Algebraic Reasoning before Algebra 2. They may also replace Pre-Calc with College Prep Math.
Integrated Physics and Chemistry (IPC) - On-Level
(optional class to take during 9th grade if taking Algebra 1 to reduce number of 9th grade STAAR tests)
Biology - On-Level or Advanced (must take as adv if taken during 9th grade)
Chemistry (recommended)/Physics - On-Level or Advanced
Science - On-Level, Advanced, AP
Science - On-Level, Advanced, AP
Upper level LOTE classes starting with level 3 are weighted and can replace unweighted level 1 and level 2 in rank.
May take with Garza Online during the summer. Must complete before first day of senior year.
All McCallum students are on the Multidisciplinary Endorsement because it reflects the above graduation plan.
Student's may also earn Stem, Arts & Humanities and Business & Industry through their elective choices. (i.e. extra math/science for STEM)
