Our Literati Book Fair is scheduled for March 6-12, 2026.
Shopping Information
The Literati online store is available for book fair shopping through March 12.
Online orders that ship from Literati will be delivered to the school AFTER the book fair ends. Items that come from 3rd party vendors will ship to home. These options will be visible when you select items and pay.
Teacher wish lists are also available through the online store. Just click "Support A Wishlist" to find a teacher's list to shop for them.
Students will visit the Book Fair during their regularly scheduled Essential Areas rotation day/time.
Families are welcome to come shop at other times during the day. See below for days/times.
**Please sign in at the front office before coming to the library for after school shopping.**
SHOPPING DAYS AND TIMES:
Shopping is available each school day from 7:20-4:00.
We will close at 3:00 on March 12 to pack up the fair.
Classes will visit during their regularly scheduled library time aside from one day of classes. Those teachers will come during Art on March 9.
Friday, March 6: we will be open late until 6:30 for additional shopping time. Snacks and sparkling water provided!
Like last year, we will donate 10% of the Book Fair profit to the Austin ISD Library Fund to support other libraries in our district.
Last year, we were able to donate $600!
Online Shopping and Gift Cards
Online shopping and gift cards for students and staff can all be done HERE. More information can be found below for additional questions.
Email Tamra Snell if you have a different question not found here
We do not have designated morning shopping for grown-ups to maintain our current practice of students coming into school and getting ready for the school day to begin. Parents are allowed to check in at the office and come with their student if they want to.
Students are allowed to come in before going to class. We do send all students to class when the 7:40 bell rings if they are not ready to purchase.
Yes, after school shopping will be available for families from dismissal until 4:00 pm except on Thursday, March 12. We will close at 3:00 to pack up the fair. Please check in at the front office to maintain our security procedures. Students MUST be with a grown-up for after school shopping.
Literati offers a gift card option to give your child funds to spend at Book Fair. See the guide below for helpful information.
You can also use pre-paid Visa gift cards to reduce the handling of cash.
Students may still bring cash. Pennies will not be given as change. All prices will automatically round to the nearest 5 cents on the registers. Pennies may still be used for payment.
You may also send a check made out to Highland Park in the amount of your choosing. Change can be provided for funds not used on a check. All credit cards and Tap to Pay are available.
Can I join my child during their time to help them shop?
Yes! Families can join their student during their class time. Families can also visit the fair any time during the school day after checking in at the office. Students can come shop with you during their lunch, too!
How can I purchase books for a teacher?
The best option is to give gift cards to teachers that they can shop either online or on-site. If they set up a wish list, you can purchase from their wish list.
We can take paid orders for books only on the registers. You can also shop and order online.
Gift cards can be purchased on Literati's Book Fair site linked above. You do not need to print the gift card. We can access that information at school and provide updated balances as purchases are made. Unused funds stay on the gift card balance. They can also be used in the online fair. IF YOU HAVE FUNDS LEFTOVER ON A PREVIOUS GIFT CARD: you should be able to add funds to that gift card versus buying a new one. There should also be an option to donate leftover funds to the library.
Check out the guide to gift cards below.
It shows how you can add funds to existing gift cards, merge previous ones, and donate/regift unused balances.
