Micaela Campos was born and raised right here in Austin, Texas, and has been passionate about choir since high school. She attended Hutto High School, where she was an active member of both the choir and theatre programs. During her time there, she was a member of the Varsity Women’s Choir, performed in all of the school’s musicals, and participated in UIL and Solo & Ensemble competitions every year. Her ensembles consistently earned Sweepstakes awards at UIL, she received Superior ratings for all of her solo performances, and received a rare Outstanding Performer award her Junior year.
In her senior year, Mrs. Campos earned a spot in the prestigious TMEA All-State Choir, the highest honor a Texas high school choir student can achieve.
Mrs. Campos went on to earn her bachelor's degree in Choral Music Education from the University of North Texas in 2019. While at UNT, she sang in several university ensembles, including the University Singers, Women’s Chorale, and the Director’s Chorus.
Prior to teaching at CMS, she had been the elementary music specialist at Mathews Elementary, where she also attended as a child! Her professional affiliations include the Texas Music Educators Association and the Texas Choral Directors Association.
This is Mrs. Campos' 2nd year at Covington Middle School and 8th year in education. She loves the color pink, iced coffee, scary movies and spending time with her husband, family, and dog, Kiki!
