Accelerated Reader

The Accelerated Reader program is one of the ways we encourage reading and comprehension.  Students self-select "good-fit" books, and take a short comprehension quiz after reading them.  Students who reach their grade-level goals are recognized at an assembly, pictured in the hallway, and enjoy their lunch in the library. 

Bluebonnet Reading Program

Voting in January 2025

Students choose!  With so many awards given by adults, the Texas Bluebonnet program provides students with the chance to vote on  their favorite book.  Each year, the committee offers a varied list of fiction, nonfiction, picture and chapter books.  Students must read 5 to be eligible to vote for books in January.
