The Clayton Elementary Library
in southwest Austin serves over 650 students, as well as the teachers, families and staff who support them. Our community loves learning, books, and technology, and our library is one of the favorite places where all those things - and we! - come together.
Incorporating hands-on activities, like STEM and craft projects, is an important part of how we learn to think creatively and extend our understanding of books and information. Our library is both an active place and a cosy space to enjoy our great collection of books.
Technology is a natural part of our learning experience, and we frequently tie tech and literature. We search for answers to questions, but also use a variety of tools to share our own ideas - about books and the many things we're learning. We explore the suite of Google apps, and many other web tools, so that we have a menu of choices for any project.
