All about Mrs. Hively
Librarian
Librarian
I am proud to be a founding member of Baldwin Elementary School! I've been here since we were assembling furniture and launching our amazing school on that hot August day in 2010. I've been privileged to teach both Special Education for 6 years and 5th grade English Language Arts & Social Studies for the past 7 years here at Baldwin. This is my 2nd year as librarian.
I hold a bachelor's degree in theatre from Texas Tech, a Master's degree in counseling from St. Mary's, a Master's degree in education from Texas State, and a Master's of library science from Sam Houston State University. I love to learn new things!
I have a wonderful husband and two grown sons -- Jackson works as a District Executive for Boy Scouts of America (soon-to-be renamed Scouting America) and Jacob is pursuing his career in film post-production and is proud to work with Austin ISD TV. We love to travel, see movies, & go kayaking. I love spending time with my kids, my pets, reading, gardening, and practicing pilates.
As a lifelong avid reader and writer, I am blessed to help each Bobcat find books they love and discover the adventure of reading!

Library Clerk
My name is Stephanie Durbin and I have the privilege of being Baldwin's library clerk. I have been at Baldwin since 2017 and love working in the library.
I'm originally from Connecticut and attended college at Bay Path College in Longmeadow, MA. There I received my AA in Human Services and my BA in Psychology.
My husband, Bill, and I have two amazing children. Ben is a freshman at University of Arkansas. He is a talented piano player and a sci-fi/fantasy reader. Penelope is a junior at Bowie High School and enjoys soccer, theater, and historical fiction.
Nothing fills me with more joy than seeing kids find a connection or their passion while in the library. My goal is to provide a friendly and encouraging space for all kids to enjoy in the library.
When I'm not reading (Sci-fi/Fantasy, YA, Contemporary Fiction, Mystery, Historical Fiction, Contemporary Romance, and of course Middle Grade) I'm knitting!
