Applicants must meet the following requirements to be considered, please refer to specific scholarships for further requirements:
* Must be enrolled in an accredited dental hygiene program in the United States
* Completed a minimum of one year in a dental hygiene curriculum. Students entering their first year of dental hygiene school are not eligible; students may be in the process of completing their first year when application is submitted.
* A minimum grade point average (GPA)- please refer to the specific scholarship to which you are applying to find out the minimum require GPA
* A full-time or part-time student during the academic year for which you are applying
* Must be a professional member or student member of the American Dental Hygienists’ Association (ADHA).
Carol Bauhs Benson Scholarship - Established in memory of Carol Bauhs Benson.
Education level pursuing: Associate
Regional limitation: open to students who reside in the following states: Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, or Wisconsin

Sigma Phi Alpha Associate Scholarship - Awarded to an outstanding student pursuing a Associate degree at a school with an active chapter of the Sigma Phi Alpha Dental Hygiene Honor Society that is a potential future Sigma Phi Alpha member.

Minimum GPA : 3.5 on the 4.0 scale

Scholarship for Academic Excellence - Sponsored by Johnson & Johnson. Two scholarships are reserved for students pursuing a Baccalaureate degree and three scholarships are designated for students pursuing an Associate degree.

Colgate "Bright Smiles, Bright Futures" Minority Scholarships - Sponsored by Colgate Palmolive Company, these scholarships are awarded to members of minority groups currently underrepresented in dental hygiene programs at the Associate educational level. Example eligible applicants include: African Americans, Hispanics, Asians, Native Americans, and males.

Award Amount: $1,250
Karla Girts Memorial Community Outreach Scholarship - Sponsored by Procter & Gamble in memory of Karla Girts, BSDH, RDH, past president of ADHA and former Chair of ADHA Institute for Oral Health. Applicants will display a commitment to improving oral health within the geriatric population in addition to a cumulative grade point average equal to or above 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. (Requires separate essay.)

Award Amount: $2,000
Hu-Friedy/Esther Wilkins Instrument Scholarships - Sponsored by Hu-Friedy Manufacturing Co., Inc. The program awards recipients with the Hu-Friedy dental hygiene instruments of their choice, equivalent to a retail value of $1,000
Education level pursuing: Associate or Baccalaureate degree level. 3.0 GPA Required

The primary focus of the TDHA Scholarship Program is to provide financial assistance to dental
hygiene students who can demonstrate a commitment to further the discipline of dental hygiene
through academic achievement, professional excellence, and a desire to improve the
public’s overall health.
These scholarships are made available through the TDHA treasury and the generous
donation of Omega Seminars, Inc., Texas Dental Placement Network (TDPN), and
Carus Dental. All scholarship monies must be used toward costs associated with
dental hygiene school.
