DESCRIPTION: This presentation addresses common issues involved with tutoring ESOL writing students. It will include a discussion on the expectations of the student versus those of the professor as well as ideas on how to help students with content, organization, grammar, and mechanics. Some sample student papers will be analyzed.

DESCRIPTION: Ascender is a first year experience program for community college students created to ensure college readiness toward completion and transfer.

DESCRIPTION: Some college’s offers a variety supports to help adults with IDD achieve their goals. Working together with agencies and different departments, they provide comprehensive supports along side their courses which leads to increased independence and success. IDD is a large term that includes intellectual functioning or adaptive behavior. Developmental disabilities include autism, behavior disorders, brain injury, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, fetal alcohol syndrome, intellectual disability, and spina bifida. We are seeing more and more students with IDD going to college. In this presentation, you will learn easy ways to assist all students in your class especially students with IDD which will lead to increased student success.
