Hall of Fame CriteriaAfter his time at AHS, Kemp played baseball at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles from 1973-1975. In 2023, he was named to the College Baseball Hall of Fame. Kemp became a professional baseball outfielder, playing in the MLB for the Detroit Tigers, Chicago White Sox, New York Yankees, Pittsburgh Pirates, and Texas Rangers. He mostly played in the outfield, as a hitter, or first baseman. During his best season in 1979, he hit .318 with 26 home runs and 105 RBI.
