Jason Dana- 8th Grade Physical Education Teacher
About Me: I was born and raised in Northern California, and I have lived in Colorado for 19 years. I am a proud resident of Aurora where I live with my wife and our twins who are 9 years old and named Kacy and Jackson.
This is my 13th year at Mrachek and my 13th in APS. Prior to APS, I taught Physical Education at Cimarron Elementary in Cherry Creek School District and before that I coached baseball and taught PE at Fort Scott CC., American River CC and Mendocino CC. My educational background includes a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education from Kansas Wesleyan University, a Master's degree in Sports Administration from St. Mary’s University in Moraga.
I will coach Unified Track at Mrachek this year. I am also the Varsity Pitching Coach at Cherokee Trail High School who just finished 2nd in the state last year for 5A Baseball.
This year, our PE students will be playing various teams sports, individual sports, fitness activities, health techniques and strategies, and learning how to demonstrate amazing sportsmanship.
My job is to accelerate learning for every APS student every day. I do my job by leveraging the unique strengths of my students, being a part of the community, and demonstrating a love of learning. My community needs me to do my job.
