Middle School!

Middle School Specials are currently on the music elective/course offering:

Musical Music...!! 🎶   

The inspiration for the Newsies productions came straight from the history books! On July 20, 1899, the newsboys of New York City stood up against Joseph Pulitzer’s New York World and William Randolph Hearst’s New York Journal to protest the inflated newspaper prices. Their two week-long strike and resolution revolutionized child labor in the 1900s.

To honor this story, The Walt Disney Company created and premiered Newsies on April 10, 1992. Because of the overwhelming requests to crate a live-stage version of Newsies, Disney Theatrical Productions went to development and on September 25, 2011, a test production of Newsies: The Musical opened at Paper Mill Playhouse in Millburn, New Jersey.
