Our youngest Murphy Creek performing ensemble! π€β¨
Junior Jam is an after school group for 2nd and 3rd graders who want to start to get involved in the music program at Murphy Creek.!! π€ πΉ We will meet every Monday after school (starting 8/17) after school until4:15 pm in the music room! π Students can bring snacks for themselves or to share with the group! π€ We are excited to welcome this young performing ensemble to the family!! β£οΈ

We have our first lowkey performance this Thursday, 9/24, at the Backyard Bash!!Β πΆ The event runs from 5-7, but we will meet up with students from my other two after school performing ensembles (Slam Jam & Virtuosos) at the live music area by the little basketball hoop on the blacktop at 5:45 pm to watch a couple older students perform first, then be ready to sing, dance, and play percussion instruments to the World Cup song "Dai Dai" at 6:00 pm!!Β If you are not able to come to the Backyard Bash this year, or even if you're at another booth at the event, it's ok!! It's just going to be a fun way to join up and kick off the school year together as a musical family!! π
Also, students have been really wanting some extra practice, particularly since I've been out sick recently - so we're going to have a voluntary rehearsal on Thursday before the event, 2:40 - 4:00 pm, for all three groups combined!!Β Any students who want to attend can come, please reply to this email and let me know! Then students can go home and return for the Backyard Bash (the event starts at 5) or if they want to stay and help set up for the Bash, let me know that, as well!! π
Ohh, I also said students could try to wear green and yellow for the Backyard Bash!!Β If you don't have green and yellow, they can wear black or white - or if they forget, it's no big deal! ππ

The Next Level - Vocal Opportunities in the Community! πΆΒ
This is an incredible, culturally relevant, inspirational performance ensemble!! ππ Think Miss Lyza style but times ten π... This organization partners with local artists and puts on powerful community performances!! π¦Ύ We worked with the Director last year at Honor Choir, we partnered with them last year for their Song Party, and this Aurora ensemble will be directed by a very good friend of mine, Mr. James Jenson!! β£οΈΒ They just started an ensemble here in Aurora, and it would be fabulous to get some of our students involved!! π€ They usually require a fee, but there are tons of scholarships, and I know they're really trying to get the Aurora location going so they'll be accepting lots of singers without fees!! π Please consider this amazing opportunity - I'll come support you at your concerts!! π
Here is another local vocal ensemble - this is Colorado Children's Choir!! π If you don't know about this organization, they are top notch!! π«‘ We have had strong connections with this organization in the past, and this will definitely help take your vocal and performing skills to the next level...! π€© These are audition ensembles, they encompass traditional approaches and advanced musicianship, and they perform at Boettcher at the the Denver Performing Arts Complex downtown, and they are certifiably incredible!! β¨ Please consider auditioning for this elite vocal ensemble - I will help you through it and they will even come to Murphy Creek if for the auditions if we are interested! π This organization also has a fee, but they do have some scholarships.... And they also just opened an Aurora location!! π€ Let's see if we can get some students in on some of these ground-breaking musical experiences π₯Ή...!!
