The International Thespian Society is an honor society created for high school theatre students. The society honors outstanding work in high school theatre. Theatre students must earn 10 points (which is 100 hours) of work in the Hinkley theatre to be considered for induction into Thespians. The guidelines for admission and for sustaining membership are governed by the ITS society, and enforced by each high school troupe. These students represent those who go above and beyond to immerse themselves in the craft of theatre.
Troup 1512 sponsors three 'cabaret' performances a year, which create an opportunity for thespian members to invite future thespians to perform on the main stage. These cabarets count for 1 point toward membership, and are by invite only. Students need not audition, and they are expected to attend one rehearsal before the performance. The cabarets are an open mike type platform which will have a theme, and feature soloists, monologues, original music, poetry and scene work, dance, juggling, stand up comedy, slam poetry, hula hoop, cheerleading demonstrations...any talent a student possesses that they wish to share.
