ESY Eligibility

When determining eligibility for ESY, special education and related service providers must analyze BOTH the student's level of regression AND the student's recoupment time on the skills and knowledge related to their IEP goals and objectives.  Teams should use the ESY Decision Flow Chart to support as they analyze the data.  Here is the accompanying Learnie on how to utilize the ESY Flow Chart. After completing the ESY Flow Chart, case managers must attend a required ESY Data Workshop.

***Students may require ESY services in some areas but not others. The recommended ESY services must align with the Regression/Recoupment and/or Predictive Factors data. In addition to the consideration of ESY services in response to the regression/recoupment and predictive factors data, related services may also be required during ESY in order for students to access and participate in other ESY services.
