Mission Statement
She Who Leads Affinity Group is a space rooted in liberation, healing, and collective power for women and gender-expansive people of color. We come together to center our shared and distinct experiences navigating race, gender, culture, and systemic inequity. Through storytelling, connection, and cultural traditions, we uplift one another, affirm our wholeness, and build a future where we not only survive but thrive together.
Purpose / Value Statement
This group honors the wisdom and power of our lived experiences as women of color. We recognize that our identities are shaped by overlapping systems of power and that we carry intergenerational knowledge, resilience, and creativity within us.
Participation in this group provides:
A space for reflection, connection, and solidarity
Support navigating institutions that often render our experiences invisible or fragmented
Opportunities to grow as leaders, advocates, healers, and changemakers
Tools and resources rooted in cultural wisdom and resistance
Intentional time for joy, celebration, and rest as essential to our well-being
She Who Leads Affinity Group is not simply a place to gather, it is a space to affirm our humanity, nurture our leadership, and co-create strategies for equity, care, and transformation. This group directly supports the district’s pillar of Belonging by creating a culturally sustaining and identity-affirming space where women and gender-expansive people of color feel seen, valued, and empowered. Rooted in shared lived experiences and cultural knowledge, the group fosters authentic connection, relational trust, and psychological safety; key components of true belonging. By centering intersectional identities and honoring ancestral wisdom, this space affirms that belonging is not about assimilation, but about being celebrated in one’s wholeness. Through collective care, leadership development, and community building, the group contributes to a more inclusive and equitable district culture where everyone can thrive.
