AFJROTC is a high school leadership and character development program sponsored by the U.S. Air Force. It is not a military recruitment program but students (cadets) will learn leadership skills, teamwork, discipline, and responsibility through classroom instruction, drill and ceremonies, physical training, aerospace science education, and community service. The program emphasizes integrity, service, and excellence while helping students build confidence and strong decision-making skills.

If you complete 3 years of AFJROTC (AFJROTC 1-3) and then enlist in the U.S. military, you may qualify to enter at a higher enlisted rank, which means slightly higher starting pay. That means you start with higher base pay and advance a little faster early in your career.

The courses provides foundational behavioral health knowledge and the ability to apply a wide array of concepts and skills within diverse behavioral health settings. There is a particular emphasis on understanding and addressing mental health issues. Graduates are prepared to work in various mental health settings, such as clinics, hospitals, community centers, and social service agencies.
