School Counselor Corps Grant Goals
What is the School Counselor Corps Grant?
The School Counselor Corps Grant Program is a state funded, competitive, four-year grant that is designed to distribute funds to eligible education providers pursuant to the requirements of the SCCGP, C.R.S. 22-91-101 through 22-91-105.
The goals of the program are to:
Increase the availability of effective school-based counseling to help increase the state graduation rate and increase the percentage of students who appropriately prepare for, apply to, and continue into postsecondary education; and
Support work-based learning awareness, education, and opportunities.
With the help of the grant, the Aurora Central HS Counseling team is working to meet the below goals:
We will increase 9th grade average daily attendance by 5% during the 2023-2024 school year, as compared to the ADA average for the 2022-2023 school year at 72%.
Decrease concurrent enrollment drops & withdrawals by 5% in the 2023-2024 school year, as compared to 60% of students who dropped a CE class in 2022-2023.
We will increase post-secondary matriculation (in a 2 or 4 year school) in 2023-2024 by 5% from 32% in 2021-2022.
