The Later Start Time Committee is evaluating a proposed district-wide schedule that provides a common start and end time for all elementary schools and a common start and end time for all secondary schools. The elementary and secondary schedules are staggered by 15 minutes to support transportation and district operations while maintaining consistency across the district. This proposal is intended to support discussion and planning and is not a final decision. No changes would occur until the 2027-2028 school year.

The proposed schedule was developed after reviewing research, consulting with other Maine school districts, evaluating transportation considerations, and gathering stakeholder feedback. The committee sought a schedule that balances student well-being with the operational needs of the district.
