1.ENJOY THE PROCESS OF LEARNING
Brain research suggests that fun is not just beneficial to learning but, by many reports, is required for
authentic learning and long-term memory.
2.HAVE CLEAR AND REALISTIC OBJECTIVES
Objectives are the stepping stones towards achieving your goals. Objectives are concise, specific
statements that indicate what you are seeking to achieve.
3.DEVELOP REGULAR LEARNING RITUALS
Rituals give you consistency in your learning by helping you center your thinking (which can help
you focus and reduce your anxiety.)
4.TRACK LEARNING GOALS AND OBJECTIVES
Periodically review your goals and objectives to determine if they are relevant and achievable. Modify
if needed.
5.SHARE WHAT YOU LEARN
Reciprocal Learning is when two students form a partnership committed to helping each other reach
a particular learning goal or objective.
6.REFLECT ON WHAT YOU LEARN
Construct rich meaning from your experiences and develop insight. Apply what you have learned to
contexts beyond the classroom.
7.DON'T TRY TO LEARN TOO MUCH AT ONCE
Limit the score of your learning to align with your goals and objectives. Be selective and avoid
information overload.
8.HOLD YOURSELF ACCOUNTABLE
Taking responsibility for the outcomes of your choices, actions, and behaviors can promote healthier
relationships with your friends, family, and colleagues, and leads to more positive social interactions.
9.ASSESS YOUR OWN PROGRESS
Involve yourself in critical reflection. Make informed decisions about your learning based on your
experiences, insights, and personal judgement.
10.WELCOME CHALLENGES AS PART OF THE PROCESS
Test your limits and capabilities. Remain open to new experiences, step out of your comfort zone, and
don't let the fear of failure prevent your from achieving your goals and objectives
