Prospective Student Research Assistants
If you are interested in becoming a member of the lab, see below, and contact Dr. Lorenz directly at meganlorenz@augustana.edu
Who is eligible?
I am always looking for highly-motivated, interested students to join the lab! The psychology and neuroscience department most typically has interested students get involved in the lab via a supervised research experience. Priority is typically given to majors, but if you are interested in the experience and are not a major, I encourage you to talk to me directly. Importantly, prior experience with research or in a lab is not required. Students from underrepresented groups are especially encouraged to apply.
What will I do?
Student research assistants help with all parts of the research process - providing input on study design, creating study materials, recruiting participants and their families, running studies, coding data, and presenting research findings. In addition to focusing on a specific project, lab members meet as a big group once a week to share study updates and to discuss recent articles and findings in developmental psychology. Students typically register for 0 or 2 credits as part of supervised research (PSYC-382/5), but opportunities for volunteering in the lab can be discussed. All students must complete the supervised research application (emailed early/mid-semester) or discuss their interest with Dr. Lorenz.
