In our lab, we conduct research aimed at understanding child development. If you are interested in participating in a study or joining our mailing list for future studies, check out the contact page!
What does participation involve?
All of our studies are currently being conducted virtually via Zoom and involve one or two virtual sessions with a member of our lab team. Participating involves completing a consent form and some questionnaires to provide us with helpful information about how your child develops. After completing the paperwork, you and your child will join a virtual session and complete some child-friendly activities, usually lasting no more than 30 minutes. These sessions can be scheduled at your convenience for days, evenings, or weekends.
Who will I be working with?
All of our studies are run by trained student research assistants that have experience working with children. All research assistants complete ethics training and are directly supervised by Dr. Lorenz.
What do I get for participating?
After participating, we typically send families monetary compensation (in the form of an Amazon.com gift card) as a thank you for your time.
Is there anything else I should know?
All of our projects are approved by the Institutional Review Board at Augustana College, which means that they have been reviewed by a panel of experts that deem the studies to be ethical, beneficial, and developmentally appropriate. All projects are supervised by Dr. Megan Lorenz, who has been conducting research on child development for over 10 years.
