1. Inquiry in Action: The Hero/Heroine of Your Own Story (10% written strategies; 15% final writing product; approximately 15 pages of writing overall) Weeks 1-5.
For this investigation, students will explore, develop, and express their perspective on their own individual journey and how personal acts of heroism emerge. Based on their reading in the CORE 1010, student writers will
a. focus their writing topics through the questioning strategy (QS) and freewriting,
b. explore what they know through the three perspectives guide (3P) and what they do not know through some basic research,
c. situate their writing through the writer/reader positioning (W/R), genre analysis (GA), and focusing/organizing (F/O), and
d. draft, respond, and revise (DRR) within a community of writers
