2. Inquiry in Action: Investigations into Evil (10% strategies; 15% final product; approximately 15-20 pages of writing) Weeks 6-11.
For this inquiry, students will explore questions or issues related to nature and expression of evil based on their readings in CORE. This writing process will help students to explore, understand, and perhaps take a more informed position on this topic. Student writers will
a. focus their topics through the questioning strategy (Q.S.) and freewriting,
b. explore what they know through the three perspectives guide (3P) and what they do not know through basic research,
c. situate their writing through the writer/reader positioning (W/R), focusing (F), developing rhetorical appeals (RA), and creating a persuasive plan (PP)
d. draft, respond, and revise within a community of writers (DRR)
