Expectations

In our preschool classroom your child will learn the Bluejay Wat to be safe, respectful and responsible. They will also learn how to interact with others, learn how to be kind, share and talk through problems that may arise.

AES Blue Jay Way Jar

If a teacher or another student in the school catches a student being kind or helpful, a good news jar ticket will be filled out for their good deed. Their ticket will be placed in the office Good News Jar. Throughout the week, a few names will be drawn each day and those AES students will get to put a marble in the office jar. Once the jar is filled our school will have reward day.

Classroom above the line, below the line

In our classroom we have an above the line, below the line chart. Each day when students arrive they will put their clothespin on the happy face to start the day. If they choose to make below the line choices their clip will then get moved to below the line. If they continue to make below the line choices they will then get moved to the sad face. However, if they begin to make above the line choices they will then get moved back to the happy face. At the end of the day, if they are on the happy face (even if they moved down and then back up) they will get a picture crossed off of their "I stayed above the line" reward chart. Once they have the ten pictures crossed off they will then get to pick a prize out of the classroom treasure box.
