Click the Google Drive icon in your system tray/menu bar.
Confirm it shows “Sync complete” (or similar) before you begin copying.
Windows
OneDrive: C:\Users\<YourName>\OneDrive\
Google Drive: C:\Users\<YourName>\Google Drive\ (or Google Drive (G:) if you chose a virtual drive)
macOS
OneDrive: /Users/<YourName>/OneDrive/
Google Drive: /Users/<YourName>/Google Drive/
If you customized your sync locations, open your OneDrive/Google Drive preferences to see the exact path.
Open Two File Explorer (Finder) Windows Side-by-Side
Left pane: your OneDrive folder
Right pane: your Google Drive folder
Select Files/Folders in OneDrive
Click or ⇧ Shift-click to select multiple items, or Ctrl/Cmd + A for all.
Drag & Drop (or Copy-Paste) into Google Drive
Drag the selection from the OneDrive window into the Google Drive window.
OR use Ctrl+C (Cmd+C) in OneDrive, switch to Google Drive, then Ctrl+V (Cmd+V).
Watch the Sync Icons
Google Drive will show spinning arrows or a “Syncing…” badge on files as it uploads them.
OneDrive will show green checkmarks once everything’s backed up.
Check Online
Log in to drive.google.com to see your newly transferred files.
Likewise, you can spot-check on onedrive.live.com to confirm they’re still in OneDrive if you did a copy (not move).
If You Copied: and you no longer need local OneDrive copies, you can right-click the files in OneDrive and choose Free up space (Windows) or Remove download (Mac) to convert them back to online-only.
If You Moved: double-check everything arrived in Google Drive before deleting the originals from OneDrive.
Work in Batches: split large file sets into smaller folders to reduce sync errors.
Use Web Upload: for extremely large archives, uploading directly via browser can sometimes be faster.
Keep Both Clients Updated: ensure you’re running the latest versions to avoid compatibility issues.
