Professor Emmanuelle Sinardet (University Paris-Nanterre, Paris, France) will show how literary sources, in particular Filipino literary sources in Spanish, allow us to identify the construction of a national imaginary, with its allegories, representations, recurring topics, identity referents, and archetypes. She will draw on the MOOC offered by the DIGIPHILIT Project and also look at the recurrence of these images in the pictorial arts.

Muntadas: Exercises on Past and Present Memories

The idea of movement from the themes of globality and transnationality is central to the works of renowned conceptual artist Antoni Muntadas. In this exhibition, Muntadas used the Manila Galleon trade as framework by developing contemporary versions of goods that were originally part of the commercial circuit to translate memories and narratives that would resonate with audiences in the Philippines and Spain.
