It is recommended to download and use Google Chrome or Chromium-based browsers to fully access the features of Google Meet and the rest of the Google Workspace tools.
There are two ways to set up a Google Meet – through Google Meet (meet.google.com) or Google Calendar (calendar.google.com).
You can schedule and set up a Google Meet (GMeet) for your online classes by creating an event on Google Calendar and adding your students as participants.
You may also customize the Meet settings before or after setting up the class and sending your calendar invite.
Settings include: Setting up host controls, setting up waiting room, accessing meeting records, and assigning co-hosts.
You may pre-assign breakout rooms in the Google Calendar. To create breakout rooms:
Click the Breakout rooms tab.
Set the number of breakout rooms you need for your session.
Rename the rooms.
Drag and drop participants’ names from the Main Call to the room you want to assign them to.
Now that you have set up your Google Meet on the Google Calendar, it's time to log in and start your meeting. Click here to learn how to join a meeting.
