SCIENTIFIC ENDEAVOR
Fr. Victor L. Badillo, S.J. was a Jesuit priest who embodied the scientific trait of curiosity. He was an expert in his fields of Physics and Astronomy, leading to him becoming the chairman of the Philippine Astronomical Society. After fulfilling this role, he served as a long-time director of Ateneo’s Manila Observatory. Known by his contemporaries for his sense of wonder, he even had his own planetarium projector to assist his lectures and studies about space. His contributions to Philippine astronomy were even honored by the naming of the asteroid 4866 Badillo after him.
